Salamat, Mama!

I know na hindi ko ‘to madalas sabihin.

Pero if there is one thing na natutunan ko ngayong pandemic, it is to appreciate you more than ever.

Syempre ayaw mo ako magka-COVID or anything that will put our family in danger.

Kita ko, Mama.

Kita ko how worried you are kung saan at paano magsisimula when this quarantine was announced. You felt devastated, alone, and frustrated. Kita ko how you looked for means para makapag-provide. Sorry if I overlooked that.

Rinig ko, Mama.

Rinig ko ‘yung mga prayers mo kay Papa God na lagi ako protektahan, tulungan, at gabayan because you only want the best for me. Pati ‘yung mga iyak mo. Hindi mo pinaparinig kasi gusto mo maging strong for me even though your heart is bleeding from exhaustion and pain.

Siguro nga I can’t fully understand your love but I hear and see everything that you do for our family, Ma. Sorry if ngayon pa lang ako nabawi sa mga nanakaw na time from work and gala. But now I know better.

This pandemic has taught me to prioritize and value most the people na kasama ko pang-habambuhay.

Kaya para sa lahat ng mga mamas out there who work tirelessly and sacrificially para sa amin whether you are an OFW na malayo ngayon sa anak nila.

It is extra difficult for you to cope abroad because nawalan ka ng work and you’re stressed kung paano ka makakapag-padala sa Pilipinas. On top of that, you’re not physically present to protect your family from COVID-19 kaya nilalaban mo kami in prayer.

We hear you. We see you.

Or, you are a single-parent and hindi stable ang job mo sa ngayon because of the crisis. Every day is a battlefield and yet you show us how to fight and win dahil ang kasangga mo ay si God.

You may be a frontliner mom. You put your life on the line in the service of your countrymen. May this message reach to you na kahit bawal ka muna namin i-hug because of physical distancing, mahal na mahal ka namin and our hearts cry for your safety, wellness, and strength.

We hear you. We see you.

It’s time…

It’s time to put the spotlight sa totoong star ng lahat and ikaw ‘yun, Mama. Inabot man ng quarantine ang Mother’s Day pero nothing and no one can stop me from appreciating you because this is your day.

I love you.
