Palagi mong naririnig na dapat nagbabasa ka ng Bible. Pero bakit nga ba? Ano nga ba ang makukuha mo sa pagbabasa ng Bible?
To help you better understand the importance of Bible reading, here are 5 reasons that might encourage you to start now. Like, now na talaga!
BreakThrough Reason #1: You can relate to the stories.
If you read the Word, you will be amazed to see that the characters in the Bible were going through something that is common today!
Social judgment and rejection, issues about poverty, dealing with the same problems for too long, addictions, and being cheated on – lahat ng mga ito nasa Bible.
Kapag binasa mo ang mga kuwento na ‘yun, it will empower and encourage you to BreakThrough… regardless of what you’re going through right now. Alam mo ‘yung kasabihan na, “Kung nagawa niya, magagawa ko rin. Kung nangyari sa kaniya, puwede ring mangyari sa ‘kin.” Trot ito, Breaker! One hundred percent, proven and tested. Ay, may ganorn?
Another thing is, when you read these stories, you will also learn how to respond in a better way. Matututunan mo kung paano i-handle ang mga ganap mo sa buhay. Isn’t it amazing?
BreakThrough Reason #2: You will be strengthened.
Nag-wo-workout ka para lumakas physically.
Kumakain ka ng gulay para maging healthy.
Nagbabasa ka ng libro at nanonood ng tutorials para lalong gumaling in terms of skills.
But how about your soul, your emotional and mental strength? How can you make them healthy? How will you strengthen them, especially during difficult times?
By reading the Bible.
Sabi pa sa Psalm 119:28 (NIV), “My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.” You will be strengthened by reading the Bible, Breaker, because it isn’t just words on pages. It is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), and it is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). Mga bagay na wala sa ibang libro.
BreakThrough Reason #3: You will be set free.
Ilang beses na natin itong narinig, “The truth will set you free.” Alam mo ba na it’s actually a Bible verse? Makikita mo ito sa John 8:32.
Pero may tanong kami sa ‘yo, Breaker. ‘Di ka na-inform na may pa-quiz pala, noh? Anyway, ito na nga.
What is the truth? Kasi if the truth will set us free, ano ba ang truth? And it will set us free… from what?
Ito ang sagot: “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (John 14:6)
Si Jesus mismo ang Truth, Breaker, and you will know Him by reading the Bible. And as you read it, you will be freed from pressure, confusion, bitterness, anguish, the need to control, pride, unforgiveness, and above all – you will be freed from the lies.
‘Yung kasinungalingan na walang nagmamahal sa ‘yo.
‘Yung kasinungalingan na mag-isa ka.
‘Yung kasinungalingan na walang patutunguhan ang efforts mo.
‘Yung kasinungalingan na wala kang magandang future.
Dahil alam mo kung ano ang totoo?
You are loved. (Romans 8:35-39)
You are not alone. (Joshua 1:9)
You will be blessed. (Psalm 128:2)
You have a good future. (Jeremiah 29:11)
BreakThrough Reason #4: Your steps will be redirected.
Confuse ka ba sa mga bagay-bagay? ‘Di ka ba makapag-desisyon agad? Nalilito ka ba kung ano’ng daan ang dapat mong tahakin? Or ‘di mo alam saan pupunta?
Well, this verse might help you, Breaker. Psalm 119:105 (NIV) says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Kung sa Tagalog pa, “Ang salita mo’y ilawan sa aking mga paa, at liwanag sa aking landas” (Tagalog: Ang Dating Biblia, 1905).
May nabasa kami sa book ni Paul Sohn entitled, “Quarter-Life Calling.” Sabi ni Paul sa libro, “We have millions of choices ranging from what clothes to wear, what music to listen to, what shows to watch, which social networks to engage in, which people to be friends with, which game to play, which TV station to watch, which college to attend, which major to study, which job to have, which car to drive, who to date, when to get married, where to live, and the list goes on. It’s overwhelming.”
Dahil sa overload of choices na ‘to, madalas tayong na-ko-confuse. ‘Di makapag-desisyon, ‘di makapili, at ‘di sigurado sa anumang napili.
Familiar ba ‘to sa ‘yo, Breaker? Then maybe it’s the perfect time for you to lower down the volume of the noise around you at simulang makinig kay LORD, by reading the Bible.
BreakThrough Reason #5: Your soul will be cleansed.
Kung may unhealthy food para sa physical body mo, may unhealthy food din para sa utak at puso mo. Katulad na lang ng chismis, toxic environment, negative words, violent content, pornography, or anything that is considered as junk na ki-no-consume mo every day. And just like how unhealthy food affect your physical health negatively, the junks that your soul consumes is also bad for your well-being.
That’s why your soul needs to be cleansed. Paano ito gawin? By reading the Bible. Sabi pa nga sa John 15:3 (NKJV), “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.” Ang Word ni LORD ay may power to purify you from any impurities.
At diyan nagtatapos ang ating programa… ay article pala 😀
Before you feel pressured into reading the Bible, Breaker, we want you to know that you can do it one step at a time. Of course, ang pagbabago ay ‘di naman nangyayari overnight, pero importanteng makapagsimula ka.
Sobrang ganda ng naidudulot ng pagbabasa ng Bible! Worth it itong gawin araw-araw, kaya dapat mo itong piliing gawin every day. Kahit one chapter a day lang muna.
Also, alam mo bang araw-araw ka ring pinipili ni LORD? Walang mintis, araw-araw ka Niyang minamahal. You will learn more about His love by reading the Bible, too.
Ito ang patunay ng Kaniyang pagmamahal.
